Introducing the calcium

Introduction Consumers are generally influenced by two factors: internal influences and external influences. Internal influences are personal feelings and thought that includes self-concept, motivation, attitudes, emotions and perceptions. These factors generally influence perception, purchasing patterns, and attitude customers develop towards a product or a service offered by business.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Introducing the calcium-fortified Pepsi drink in the UAE specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Besides, these factors are directly linked to internal and external interacting social aspects that control the pattern of though and expressed feelings. Reflecting on internal and external influences, this paper develops a comprehensive matrix for purchasing patterns exhibited by customers of the Pepsi soft drink in the UAE in relation to the future marketing practices that the Pepsi Company may adopt in order to penetrate the Middle Eastern market. Marketing the Pepsi drink in the UAE Market dynamics and consumer behaviour in the UAE It is necessary for the Pepsi Company to tailor its calcium-fortified drink to suit the acceptable cultural norms in the UAE. Several external influences affect consumer behaviour in UAE. These influences include individual culture and sub-culture, group associations, social cultural and household structure since the consumption and purchasing behaviour is heavily influenced by the unique UAE conservative culture[1]. The general buying decision in the UAE There has been substantial research on consumer behaviour, examining the decision process and influences upon it. These are in terms of store and brand characteristics and consumer behaviours. Solomon (2009) notes, â€Å"Central to the theories of consumer behaviour is the conviction that different consumers go through markedly complex decision making process that is influenced at different stages by a nu mber of possible variables†[2]. The buying process normally begins with the need for a particular product or good. The ‘need recognition’ by consumers is essential part of the buying process because purchase cannot take place without it. Thus, the acceptance of the calcium-fortified Pepsi soft drink will depend on recognition of its significance in UAE. The second stage in the decision making process is ‘information search’. The need that is created prompts a consumer to such for available information concerning the good or service that can satisfy that need. Information search occurs internally and externally. The internal search involves search for information from the memory of the consumer and is determined by past experiences with such products. External search is employed when the internal search fails to provide the information necessary to help the consumer make the buying decision in the UAE.Advertising Looking for essay on business eco nomics? It is a process by which an alternative evaluation is based on price, brand name and country of origin before the product is selected to meet the need[3]. Despite the fact that the market for Pepsi products have been in existence for a long time in UAE, there has never been a calcium-fortified drink from this global company. As a result of the recent economic difficulties, families in the UAE have been scrimping and operating on relatively fixed budgets. Families may benefit from the new Pepsi product since it promises rich calcium to the young children. Reflectively, the potential clients are likely to accept this product since it usability is on a daily basis, that is, most UAE snacks are incomplete without the soft drinks. This would make potential clients prefer this product especially now that it also promises calcium nutrient. Thus, as an efficient and affordable product, potential UAE clients are likely to embrace this drink as part of their dieting programs in their homes[4]. Potential influencing factors This calcium-fortified Pepsi soft drink targets families on both ends of the economic ladder. They purchase and consumer fresh drinks often and have a budget allocation for the same from time to time. These families are spread across all regions of UAE and are major consumers of soft drinks as revealed by the current statistics. Thus, the main factor that would influence their behaviour is the social identification with the product, that is, it is the first of its kind besides offering rich calcium nutritional value to the UAE users. Moreover, the product is like ly to change the perception of the UAE clients whose purchasing ability is defined by perceived quality. Thus, the Pepsi Company should utilize advertising materials such as print, broadcast and internet ads as a product that is well-worth its price. Given the literacy levels and the exposure to technological inventions of the target buyers, the group is likely to choose the imported calcium-fortified Pepsi drink among other products performing the same function based on the psychological perception created by these advertisements. Properly designed online marketing and product distribution management facilitated the success and sustainability in online marketing since it operated within stipulated business laws. Among the new development elements that the Pepsi Company should incorporate in the segmented UAE market include trust, distribution, fair retribution process, and passing accurate information to target audience to restore confidence within these networks.Advertising W e will write a custom essay sample on Introducing the calcium-fortified Pepsi drink in the UAE specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Potential risks factors The potential risk factors that may face the calcium-fortified Pepsi drink is the possibility of rejection by the older members of the UAE since their bodies do not need too much calcium. Since the product will penetrate the market whit the message of calcium fortification, the new Pepsi drink will be vulnerable to distorted messages on calcium content since the target market is known for its reservations and rejection based on what a close family member says about the product[5]. In order to avoid the above risks, the new Pepsi drink should come with self explanatory sticker written in simple language that the potential consumer can understand and read in order to know the exact calcium content. Besides, Pepsi Company should make the stickers in Arabic language in order to create a se nse of belonging as the potential UAE customer of the soft drink will want to associate with a product they can understand[6]. Distribution network for the new Pepsi drink in UAE The physical distribution patterns are with no doubt a critical area of focus. This will make use of the company’s brand logos that are highly recognized by most of the UAE consumers to build other distribution channels in the UAE market. The Pepsi Company may use the already existing distribution network to make the new soft drink easily available in all regions of the UAE. For various reasons, the provision of the calcium-fortified Pepsi drink would be best done by sales persons of the UAE native. This will increase the chances of credibility and ease on the interpersonal variables during product promotion and provision[7]. The potential UAE customers will not have to struggle to get this product which is likely to be part of their daily dieting needs. Conclusion Consumer behaviour is a decision-ma king process and all activities that a potential customer is involved in prior to acquisition, evaluation, use, and disposition of goods and services. Consumer’s decision making thus is complicated, dynamic, multi dimensional process as is the case in UAE. Essentially, success of brand and product management for the proposed calcium-fortified Pepsi soft drink as part of consumer behaviour in UAE will depends on a proper alignment of the company’s functional idea into the creation of flexible, involuntary, and quantifiable measurement of perception among the target UAE customers. The calcium-fortified Pepsi soft drink is likely to penetrate the UAE market since the calcium nutrient content will be its competitive advantage to cue to perceptions of the conservative UAE society. However, the product may face minor resistance from the market segment targeting the elders due to its high calcium content which they do not need.Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? Library Scavenger Hunt Example

Library Scavenger Hunt Example Library Scavenger Hunt – Coursework Example Library Scavenger Hunt Reliable Research versus Opinion Reliable research refers to a process of research that involves facts and figures for developing an understanding towards a particular issue. This refers to well interpreted development of factors that are associated with the needs of managing the diverse attributes that supports decision making. On the other hand, opinion refers to providing response towards a specific attribute even without developing any particular research on the underlined factors (Soule, Whiteley & McIntosh, 2007). Evaluate If Research Has a Solid Foundation and Is TrustworthyThe evaluation of different attributes and aspects must be researched for developing overall needs of the research and enhance the reliability of the problems. In this regard it is evident that the overall needs could be identifiable for enhancing the diverse attributes and meet the trustworthiness of research in terms of available evidences (Soule et al., 2007). Practices Needed To A djusted While Writing in Word It is evident that every scholarly article writer has a motive to develop a diverse genre that is identifiable among the masses. This helps the scholarly article writers to develop the prominence within complicated domain and enhance effectiveness. While writing in printed word one must make sure that the words they use are unique and do not replicate the work that has been conducted by others. This must be noted that the work they plan to provide the readers is more creative and developed. The chances of typographical error should be less and must be focused on developing the prominence of the views (Soule et al., 2007).Scholarly Journals The three scholarly journal that has been selected in the specific filed of my study i.e. Education Technology are as follows:Reeves, T. Cheating Essay

Cheating Essay There are many problems in the world everywhere we go. Businesses, school, homes. There is a big problem in schools, especially high school. Cheating Essay is a big problem for teachers and a headache to have to watch out for. Teens have figures that it is okay to cheat because everyone does it. Dishonesty has become a big factor in today society, and this effects everyone in some way. Cheating effects everyone in some way. Cheating occurs everyday, in every school. Cheating occurs even in the nicest schools, including private schools. This usually occurs when someone does not study for a test or just does not feel like thinking. Also, one might do it because he knows he can get away with it. There is a wide range of cheating that can go on in schools. It can be a simple as copying one word, to copying the whole test. Whatever the extent of the cheating, that does not make it right. In todays society, teens just assume that cheating is an exceptable way of getting through test. They dont care even though they know the consequences. Cheating effects me because when I study, someone else may do better than me because they cheated. This may ruin the curve for the class. And that is not fair because I could have gotten a better score. With that, sometimes I feel taken advantage of when someone kind of glances over at my paper. I dont always cover it up, but sometimes I do. Cheating can also make a person loose respect for you. They may figure that they can always cheat off of you. This will become a routine, and they will always do it. This effects my motivation to learn because I figure that studying is not worth it anymore. I figure that since everyone is cheating, I mind as well not study as hard. This can be frustrating because it ruins the learning environment in the classroom. Cheating widely effects others also. Excepting cheating only sends a negative massage to everyone. We are saying that teachers dont care, and you can get away with it. It shows how low out society has stooped to just get a grade. No matter what the motivation to cheat, the bottom line is that it is wrong. But today, so many do it, teachers have to watch even more carefully, and trust is broken forever. Trust is broken between everyone. In conclusion, we have faced the problem of cheating. We know it is there. But now the question is: What shall we do about it? That is hard because there are so many dishonest people who do not care in this world. For now, all we can do it tighten down on cheaters. And just dont let them cheat. If everyone would guard themselves against cheaters, they might give up. Of course that means we cant cheat off of others. We need to build back up our trust of people, because without trust our world will crumble. .

E. Franklin Fraizier's Black Bourgeoisie Research Paper

E. Franklin Fraizier's Black Bourgeoisie - Research Paper Example The â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† can be seen as a type of formal refutation of the â€Å"talented tenth† theory of W.E.B. DuBois, for where DuBois saw the vanguard elements of the educated, prosperous, and successful black affluent class in America in accepting leadership responsibility for the uplift of the larger race or community from bondage in the American apartheid system of the era, Frazier in the post-war era (1950’s) saw this to have been relatively hollow and false. Rather, Frazier saw the â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† as actually accepting â€Å"white† mainstream American values in a way that mimicked the wider oppressive society and gave little heed or moral recognition to the urgency of the poor, uneducated, and black people suffering under broader patterns of institutional racism. Instead, as shown in Frazier’s analysis of â€Å"black† media, the â€Å"talented tenth† who achieved success in relationship to the goals of the mainstream American society based on materialism were likely to be just as self-serving, hypocritical, and deaf to the needs of the poor or realities of the broader collective experience of racial segregation and discrimination. Whether or not there is anything out of the ordinary or exceptional about Frazier’s recognition can be disputed, for some argue that it reflects merely human nature in its corrupt element or the way power is used generally in society through control and coercion of others. The Marxist element of interpretation would see this as a fundamental element of Capitalism itself. In this regard, Frazier’s use of media interpretation in building a broader critique of society from the viewpoint of sociological method is innovative historically. Looking at the dynamics of the situation, early progressives, liberation, and civil rights leaders such as Dubois suggested as the educated numbers in the African-American community were educated and became integr ated into the society through successful social enterprises, they would naturally accept the leadership role that led to the further development of the black community nationally. This would come through economics, as in â€Å"black business†, and also through vanguard education, values in art, literature, music, popular media, etc. Frazier counters this and suggests that it is rather a social myth with no basis in evidence after 50+ years of African American progress when he wrote in the 1950’s. He suggests that the â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† vanguard culture is actually an assumption of the exclusionary and elitist social values of the broader capitalist system and society that also fuels and profits off of the racism of segregation. The â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† is more inherently selfish than revolutionary, more apt to work for their own status, wealth, and prestige, even if that is defined through the lack of experience in others. Whether or not this is human nature or an aspect of corruption inherent in capitalism cannot be determined without the subjective interpretation. Thus, Frazier presents his evidence via sociological methods and media deconstruction to show the pattern of values represented in the â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† popularly. In this regard, President Obama is one of the best examples of the â€Å"Black Bourgeoisie† in America today. He has attained the ultimate symbol of success in society, the Presidency, and as the first African-American or

Strategic Human Resource Development Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words

Strategic Human Resource Development - Essay Example However, there are areas of significant importance - like training - that have been excluded from the control of Personnel Department and are organized into separate units within the organization. Due to the above phenomenon as well as to the delays in the firm's development - which have been caused by the dysfunction of the Personnel Department - the examination and the evaluation of the role of the latter has been considered as necessary especially given the extremely competitive conditions that characterize the UK market. Current Personnel Function of Highway Stores Ltd is based in the firm's head office in Midlands. Furthermore, the specific department comprises a Personnel Manager, a Personnel Officer and 3 Personnel Administrators. The main duties of the staff include the control of all issues related with the firm's human resource management except the payroll sector which has been incorporated in the Finance Department. The Personnel Function reports directly to the Legal Director. Another significant problem is created by the fact that there is not a specific provision for the training of the head offices' personnel (training programs as designed and developed by the Training function involves only the employees of the store network). On the other han On the other hand, the Personnel function has not proceeded to the design and implementation of a specific problem-solving procedure but there is a standard internal policy that whenever a problem arises, a guidance is issued. The absence of control over the training procedure as well as the failure of designing and applying an effective personnel policy can be considered as major problems for the Personnel function. Moreover, the lack of appropriate qualifications of the Personnel staff can be viewed as a severe disadvantage of the specific department while due to this fact; most of the problems arising in the human resources field have to be faced by the only qualified person of the department, its Manager. It's for this reason that Personnel Manager is not available for his managers whenever his intervention is requested by the Personnel staff. At a next level, a major weakness of the Personnel function is the procedure related with the sickness of employees. The Personnel function keeps records on employees including health certificates as well as notices on the employees' long term absence of work (six weeks or more) due to sickness. In this way, the department is not informed for the employees' short or long term absence of the work (except the above mentioned case) with all the consequences that this fact can have for the effectiveness of the firm's human resource management. Another problem involves the extension of the role of the Personnel function is the recruitment process. The specific process is designed and implemented by the Managing Director, while the responsibility for the recruitment of new staff belongs to Area managers. It should also be noticed here that

What Science Can Do :: Science Scientific Papers

What Science Can Do I argue that 'we' the public of the United States of America, do not have an exaggerated view of what science can do. To support this claim I have compared and contrasted two articles: Enemies of Promise and The Hazards of Science. Both articles cover the topic of scientific research. Both authors are accredited scientists in their own right, and are excellent examples to cite for my thesis which I believe very strongly in. Although, I disagree with some of the conclusions made in the articles, I neverless hold both authors in very high regard. Professor of microbiology and Nobel Prize winner, J. Michael Bishop continually makes the statement in his article, Enemies of Promise, that the public has exaggerated and unrealistic expectations as to what science can do; Just as physician-author Lewis Thomas asks in his article, The Hazards of Science, "are there some things in science we should not be learning about?" (238). These men both have relevant opinions about science today. I can not say that they agree with each other because their articles are structured differently. Bishop makes arguments for science while stating it's limitations; and Thomas highlights some of sciences' achievements while questioning how far science should go. In discussing the topic of science, albeit from different frameworks, they touch upon some of the same topics. Bishop alleges that, "Science, is not the exclusive source of knowledge about human existence." (256). Then sites Thomas as saying that science is "the best way to learn how the world works." As Bishop cites Thomas to make his point, they both obviously agree with this statement. However, Thomas questions the lengths that science should go to while Bishop does not. Lewis Thomas asks the central question, "are there some kinds of information leading to some sorts of knowledge that human beings are really better off not having? Is there a limit to scientific inquiry not set by what is knowable but by what we ought to be knowing? Should we stop short of learning about some things, for fear of what we, or someone, will do with the knowledge?" (237). The author then answers his own questions: No, but he qualifies his answer by stating that it is an intuitive response that he is incapable of reasoning through. I too believe that we should not place limitations on science, while admitting that it is also an intuitive response.

Gothic Cathedral Essay

Gothic architecture was developed from a Christian perspective, and therefore attained its most meaningful expression in churches. Clerics began to demand taller churches with more windows than had been present in the dark, but sturdy Romanesque churches. This desire was derived from new intellectual and spiritual concepts that took a more rational view of God, and saw God encompassed many things, such as light, reason and proportion. The Gothic church displayed a visual attempt to leave behind the mysterious world of the Romanesque, and create a setting that was drawn toward light and purity that could be an image of heaven. The middle class also had a great influence on the Gothic style as they desired churches that could reflect their economic power and social status. The most magnificent characteristics of Gothic style were the use of light and relationship between structure and appearance. Other defining characteristics were that the massive thickness of the walls from Romanesque architecture were replaced with membrane-thin frameworks used for enclosure which could support nothing but their own weight. Ribbed vaults were used to allow lighter materials to be placed between stone ribs, thus reducing weight. The weight of the walls and roof were no longer supported by columns, but by external flying buttresses. They also used pointed arches and slender columns to lift the ceiling, which created an overwhelming height. Wall paintings, which had been common in the Romanesque, were now replaced with beautiful and enormous stained glass windows that allowed more light into the structures, imbuing all with a sense of warmth and color. Chartres Cathedral-Interior Chartres Cathedral–Interior The cathedral at Chartres was built during the Gothic period, and it showed an ideal of harmony within its structure and contents. Work on the cathedral started in 1194, and was mostly completed in 1220. It emphasizes strong vertical lines in its structure. The stained glass windows that are used in this cathedral, (it has 176), are recognized as the finest example from the gothic style. Today, 94% of the stained glass is original, and it is the largest, most extensive collection of medieval glass in the world. Rose windows were used. The primary subject of the great roses is the Virgin and the Child. The rose windows created wholeness and completeness. Indeed, it  has a special relationship to the Virgin Mary in that it portrayed more realistic and humane qualities of the Virgin Mary. The cathedral reflects the strong influence that God held over the people at that time. It shows an expression of piety and local identity to those that were proud to live in the vicinity of the cathedral itself. It enhanced civic pride, and was the focus of the town itself.
